Stargazer and yurt returns

Another guest season has drawn to an end at Stavehøl. Quiet Spring, normal Summer and a busy Autumn. Lots of sunny days and fewer destructively windy days. In April a new wooden platform was built at the top of the meadow along with a new pathway cut through the pines to get to the carpark. It was home to our new-ish Stargazer belle tent – a much sunnier and less buggy place than the old glade location and much closer to the house. We found it’s also surpisingly sheltered from the winds by the tall pines and the new oak and plum trees that have colonised the meadow offer some shade too.

A long road trip to Somerset brought back replacement parts for the damaged yurt and we successfully put it all together in June. It took pride of place back in the meadow and sheltered many happy guests – luckily it was empty when some rare strong easterly winds partly pushed it off the platform in June and turned the groundsheet into a temporary paddling pool!
