2025 will be our tenth summer at Stavehøl and will see a few changes. We are closing down the glade belle site after finally admitting that too little sunshine, distance from the bathroom and lots of insects does not make for a great location. Instead we will set up a new platform in the upper parts of the meadow (with a view of the house similar to the photo above) which has lots of sunshine hours but is still sheltered and distant from the other tents. We will probably place the stargazer belle on that new site after it’s successful debut in 2024. We will probably name the new site the ‘Meadow Belle’, which means the existing site with that name will have a new identity. As it’s right next to our walnut trees that might be ‘Walnut Belle’ or as it’s also just above the Spagerå stream maybe ‘Valley Belle’ would suit.
The yurt will be back after Phil travels to England later this winter to pick up the replacement parts from the little company in Somerset that first created it. It will be great to have it back and many guests missed it in 2024.
So lots to look forward to in 2025 when we will hope for a little more sunshine, less wind and rain and many fewer molluscs!!
